Mentor / Protégé Program The mentor will be encouraged to share experiences and provide counsel on such topics as professionalism, law practice economics and career advancement. The protégé should enter into the mentor relationship with the goal of career enhancement and professional development. The program is not designed to be a substitute for legal research, continuing legal education or to provide job hunting opportunities for new lawyers. Mentors must have been licensed five years or more. Protégés are attorneys licensed three years or less. An attorney does not have to be a member of the Houston Bar Association to participate in the Mentor / Protégé Program.
