The Appellate Practice Section holds a monthly luncheon that includes an appellate case update, the introduction of judges and staff attorneys from the Houston Courts of Appeals, and a CLE presentation.

The section also hosts other events, including an annual Judicial Reception to honor the appellate justices from the Houston Courts of Appeals. The section participates in many charitable and service activities, including brief-writing awards for all three Houston area law schools and CLE scholarships for the permanent staff attorneys at the Houston appellate courts.
