Don't miss the 23rd John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run. The race is set for March 29th at Sam Houston Park, 1100 Bagby, in downtown Houston. Team registration is $325. Individual registration for the 8K run is $25. Registration for the one-mile walk or children's run is $12. This race is open to everyone and is a great family event, as well as an official Spring Series Race of the Houston Area Road Runners Association. Volunteers Needed for Habitat House Build
The Habitat for Humanity Committee is looking for volunteers who would like to work on the 10th and 11th HBA Habitat homes this spring. Construction dates for the two houses are three consecutive weekends: April 11-12, April 18-19 and April 25-26.  Law firms and corporations are also needed to supply lunches for the construction volunteers, including sandwiches, chips, fruit, cookies and soft drinks. Trash Bash Set for April 12 in MacGregor Park

HBA members have the opportunity to help beautify the Houston area through the Lawyers Against Waste Trash Bash, set for Saturday, April 12, 8:00 a.m. until noon, in MacGregor Park, 5225 Calhoun. Volunteers will pick up trash, weed, trim shrubs and power wash in this historic city park. The event welcomes volunteers of all ages and includes a continental breakfast, t-shirt, lunch and door prizes. Law firms, corporations, courts and other groups are encouraged to form teams for the clean up effort. The event is graciously underwritten by Waste Management, Inc. and Brown and Caldwell. Donations Needed for Children's Spring Clothing and Diaper Drive
You can help Houston's children by donating clothing and diapers to the HBA's Spring Children's Clothing and Diaper Drive, April 14 through April 18, 2008. Clean, gently-used clothing for infants, children and teens is needed, as well as unopened packages of disposable diapers in all sizes. Cash donations to purchase boxes of disposable diapers also are welcome. Family Law Institute, April 4th and April 11th The HBA/CLE Committee presents the 2008 Family Law Institute for two days at the Harris County Jury Assembly Room at 1019 Congress. The "Property Day" is set for April 4, from 12:00-4:30 p.m., while the "Children's Day" is set for April 11, from 12:00-4:30 p.m. You may register for one day or both days. Night Court Tickets on Sale April 1st
Ticket sales for Night Court 2008: Law of the Sea launch on April 1 and will be available through a link on the HBA's Web site at www.hba.org. Night Court runs June 4-7, 2008 at its new home, the Wortham Center.

Physicians Needed for IDEA
The Houston Bar Association's Interprofessional Drug Education Alliance (IDEA) program is looking for physicians who would like to team up with an attorney for a drug awareness program aimed at 5th graders. The doctor/lawyer teams discuss both the medical and legal consequences of substance abuse. Orientation and written materials are provided. The IDEA program is set for May 6, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in elementary schools throughout Harris County.
