Renew HBA Dues for 2012-2013 Bar Year - Online Renewal Now Available
HBA dues statements for 2012-2013 have mailed. Please renew your dues promptly and notify the HBA Membership Department of any address or contact information changes. You can now conveniently renew your dues and manage your HBA membership account online.

If you would like to join or re-join a Section of the HBA, please check the Section(s) on your dues statement and include the Section dues with your HBA dues. Appellate Investiture September 4
The Hon. Brett Busby will be sworn in as a Justice on the Fourteenth Court of Appeals on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the 1910 Courthouse, 301 Fannin. All friends, colleagues and members of the judiciary are invited to attend.
School Supply Drive August 20-31
The Adopt-A-School Committee School Supply Drive is scheduled for August 20-31, 2012 and benefits the students of B.C. Elmore Middle School. The drive allows underpriviliged students access to supplies as needed. Items needed are: Loose-leaf notebook paper, spiral notebooks, #2 pencils, black/blue pens, colored pencils and art supplies of all kinds. Lunch & Learn CLE Series on September 12
The HBA/CLE Committee invites HBA members to participate in one of the HBA's newest CLE offerings, Lunch & Learn. There is no charge to attend and members may bring a bag lunch or purchase pizza for $5. Click here for more information on the program. The program will be at noon on Wednesday, September 12 with William Peterson of Beck, Redden & Secret, L.L.P. presenting "Supreme Court Update." Read for Constitution Day on September 17
Spend an hour of your day on September 17 reading to elementary students in commemoration of Constitution Day. Volunteers will all read the same book, If I Ran for President, by Catherine Stiers. Math, Reading Tutors Needed for 6th Graders at B.C. Elmore
The HBA's Adopt-A-School Committee is seeking volunteers to tutor 6th grade students in math and reading at the HBA's adopted school, B.C. Elmore Middle School in the North Forest ISD. Tutoring sessions are held on Wednesdays in the fall and spring. The time commitment for volunteers is approximately one and a half hours per tutoring session, including drive time from downtown. Save the Date for the 2012 Harvest Party
The 2012 Harvest Party has been set for Monday, November 12, 2012 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at River Oaks Country Club. The Harvest Party is the main annual fundraising event for the Houston Bar Foundation, and this year's underwriting goal has been set at $600,000.
