The 2012 Harvest Party has been set for Monday, November 12, from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at River Oaks Country Club. 100% of net proceeds raised for the Harvest Party directly benefit pro bono efforts in our community through the Houston Bar Foundation. This year's underwriting goal is set at $600,000.

The Houston Bar Association will release the results of its 2012 Judicial Preference Poll on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. The results will be posted on the HBA's website,
www.hba.org. The results of the Judicial Preference Poll are not endorsements of any candidates.

On Thursday, October 18, Houston Volunteer Lawyers will take you back to the reason you went to law school... to become Atticus Finch. Watch "To Kill a Mockingbird" in a courthouse that looks like Harper Lee drew it herself. There is no charge as a thank you to our volunteers, but seating is limited.

Volunteer to Interview a Vet
The HBA is participating with the Texas Court Reporters Association and the State Bar of Texas to report and preserve the oral histories of Texas lawyers and others who have served in the Armed Forces through the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. Attorneys are needed to interview veterans during a special event on Saturday, November 10 at Sunbelt Reporting & Litigation Services. If you would like to volunteer, please

The HBA's All Day Ethics program will be held Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Harris County Jury Assembly Plaza, 1201 Congress.
