The 2012 Harvest Party has been set for Monday, November 12, from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at River Oaks Country Club. One-hundred percent of net proceeds raised for the Harvest Party directly benefit pro bono efforts in our community through the Houston Bar Foundation. This year's underwriting goal is set at $600,000.

AIDS Outreach Holiday Gift Drive - Adopt a Family
Each year the HBA AIDS Outreach Committee recruits law firms, legal organizations and individuals to participate in a holiday project with social service agencies that serve families affected by HIV/AIDS. Please consider, or ask your firm to consider, adopting an individual or family and providing a special holiday season for them. Earn 6.0 Hours Ethics Credit in One Day - FREE!
The HBA's All Day Ethics program will be held Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Harris County Jury Assembly Plaza, 1201 Congress. Volunteer to Interview a Vet
The HBA is participating with the Texas Court Reporters Association and the State Bar of Texas to report and preserve the oral histories of Texas lawyers and others who have served in the Armed Forces through the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. Attorneys are needed to interview veterans during a special event on Saturday, November 10 at Sunbelt Reporting & Litigation Services. If you would like to volunteer, please

Federal Bar Association' Annual Dinner Honoring Federal Judiciary

Judge Singleton Honored
On Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 3:00 pm, the Judges of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas will host a dedication to the Hon. John V. Singleton, retired district judge, in the Ceremonial Courtroom, 515 Rusk, 11th Floor, Houston, Texas. Light refreshments will be served following the dedication. All friends, colleagues and members of the judiciary are invited to attend.

The 2013 HBA Pictorial Roster proof will be in the HBA office November 5 through November 16. Plan to come by the HBA office, First City Tower, 1001 Fannin, Suite 1300, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, to proof your Pictorial Roster information. You will not appear in the Roster if you joined the HBA or renewed your membership after August 31, 2012. Any textual changes made at the proofing session will cost $20.00 per listing.
