Tickets On Sale Now - 63rd Harvest Party, November 12

The 2012 Harvest Party has been set for Monday, November 12, from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at River Oaks Country Club. One-hundred percent of net proceeds raised for the Harvest Party directly benefit pro bono efforts in our community through the Houston Bar Foundation. This Saturday - Earn 6 Hours Ethics Credit in One Day - FREE!

The HBA's All Day Ethics program will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Harris County Jury Assembly Plaza, 1201 Congress. FREE for HBA members; $50 at the door for non-HBA members. The program has been approved for 6.0 hours ethics credit. No RSVP or registration is required. 2013 Pictorial Roster Proofing, November 5-16

The 2013 HBA Pictorial Roster proof will be in the HBA office November 5 through November 16. Plan to come by the HBA office, First City Tower, 1001 Fannin, Suite 1300, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, to proof your Pictorial Roster information. You will not appear in the Roster if you joined the HBA or renewed your membership after August 31, 2012. Any textual changes made at the proofing session will cost $20.00 per listing. Professionalism Lecture on Family Law Ethics, November 13

Justice Laura Carter Higley, 1st Court of Appeals; Judge David Farr, 312th District Court; and Reginald Hirsch, Law Office of Reginald A. Hirsch, will present "An Hour that Will Impact Your Career: Professionalism and Ethics of Family Law Practice." The program will be held on November 13, 2012, from 8:00-9:00 a.m. at the 8th Floor Attorney Ready Room of the Civil Courthouse, 201 Caroline. Senior Lawyers Luncheon, November 13

The HBA Senior Lawyers Forum will hold its program and luncheon on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:30 am at Brennan's of Houston, 3300 Smith St. Immigration expert Charles Foster of FosterQuan will present "Our Legal Immigration System and the Prospects for Real Immigration Reform." Lunch & Learn CLE Series, November 14

The HBA/CLE Committee invites HBA members to participate in one of the HBA's newest CLE offerings, Lunch & Learn. There is no charge to attend and members may bring a bag lunch or purchase pizza for $5. Click here for more information on the program. Judge Singleton Honored

On Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 3:00 pm, the Judges of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas will host a dedication to the Hon. John V. Singleton, retired district judge, in the Ceremonial Courtroom, 515 Rusk, 11th Floor, Houston, Texas. Light refreshments will be served following the dedication. All friends, colleagues and members of the judiciary are invited to attend.

Houston Attorneys Forum on Depression and Health

The Texas Lawyers Assistance Program holds confidential meetings of the Houston Attorneys Forum on Depression and Health on the first Monday of every month. The next meeting will be Monday, November 5, 6:30pm, at 303 Jackson Hill. The November speaker will be Christopher Brown, a Houston psychotherapist, will present "The Art of Meaningful Living," titled after his recently published book.
