The 2013 Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee, January 17
The 2013 Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee benefits the Houston Center for Literacy, which supports literacy organizations and programs throughout the greater Houston area. The HBA has fielded a team in 17 previous spelling bees, winning nine first place titles. Please help support literacy efforts by purchasing a table and fielding a team for the 2013 event. The spelling bee begins with cocktails in the breathtaking atrium of the newly renovated Julia Ideson Library, and will be followed by a seated dinner catered by Jackson & Company in the magnificent reading room and Tudor Gallery. The Spelling Bee will take place immediately after dinner in the library's auditorium, where teams (comprised of two adults from various organizations) will compete until one becomes V-I-C-T-O-R-I-O-U-S. With each table purchase, you may field a team of two in the Bee, so we hope you will join us for this fun and unique event.
