Java with the Judges Tomorrow, February 26
HBA members are invited to one of the association's newest CLE programs, "Java with the Judges," on the fourth Tuesday of every month, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Civil Courthouse Attorneys' Ready Room, 201 Caroline Street, located on the 8th floor. The next program is tomorrow, Tuesday, February 26 at 8 a.m. Judge David Farr, 312th District Court, will speak on "Divorce, Child Custody and Child Support." Coffee and donuts will be provided. The goal of the program is to provide a setting that allows members of the judiciary and HBA members to meet and discuss legal issues while earning .50 MCLE credit. The program is free for HBA members and no pre-registration is needed.

Bench Bar Pro Bono Awards Nominations Due March 1
Earn the recognition you deserve by nominating your firm or yourself for the annual Harris County Bench Bar Pro Bono Awards. The deadline is March 1, 2013. Selected by a committee of Harris County judges and attorneys, the awards recognize outstanding pro bono work performed through legal service providers during 2012.

HBAA's Jaworski Luncheon, March 5
Charles C. Foster is the recipient of the 26th Leon Jaworski Award from the Houston Bar Association Auxiliary. The award will be presented at a luncheon on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Houston. The keynote speaker will be The Honorable Bill White, former mayor of Houston. Tickets to the luncheon are $65 per person or $550 for a table of ten. 28th John J. Eikenburg 8K Fun Run, March 23 - Online Registration Available Now
The HBA's 28th Annual John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run will be held on Saturday, March 23 at the Central Library Plaza, 500 McKinney, Downtown Houston. Please visit the Fun Run website,
www.lawweekfunrun.com, to register for the race! Over the past 27 years, the event has raised over $1 Million for THE CENTER. The event features an 8K run, a one-mile non-competitive children's run, a non-competitive one-mile family walk, and a wheelchair division in the 8K. The 8K race is an official spring series race of the Houston Area Road Runners Association, and is a sanctioned U.S.A. Track and Field event.
Help Build HBA's 16th Habitat Home this Spring!
The HBA needs your help to build its 16th Habitat home. Available build dates are Saturdays on April 6, 13, 27; May 4, 11, 18 and June 1, from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., with lunch and refreshments provided. Volunteers are needed for framing, roofing, siding and exterior finishing. Prior construction experience is not necessary. Approximately 30 volunteers are needed for each build date. Save the Date! 65th Golf Tournament, April 25
Save the Date for the HBA's 65th Annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, April 25 at Memorial Park. Check in and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Golfers can register as individuals or in a pre-arranged four-person team. Registration includes lunch and dinner.

CLE Mixer at Saint Arnold Brewery, April 30
Looking for an exciting way to earn CLE credit? The HBA/CLE committee has planned a program at Houston's local brewery, Saint Arnold, on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Jason Braun and Dulcie Wink will present, "Walk a Mile in My Boots: Benefiting the Client Through Effective Communication." The program is approved for 1.5 hours MCLE credit, including .25 hours ethics credit. HBA members can attend for $35; non-HBA members can attend the program for $50. Attorneys must pre-register to attend.
