The HBA/CLE Committee invites HBA members to participate in one of the HBA's newest CLE offerings, Lunch & Learn. There is no charge to attend and members may bring a bag lunch or purchase pizza for $5.

28th John J. Eikenburg 8K Fun Run, March 23 - Early Registration Through March 15
The HBA's 28th Annual John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run will be held on Saturday, March 23 at the Central Library Plaza, 500 McKinney, Downtown Houston. Please visit the Fun Run website,
www.lawweekfunrun.com, to register for the race! Register by March 15 and pay the early registration fee. Over the past 27 years, the event has raised over $1 Million for THE CENTER. The event features an 8K run, a one-mile non-competitive children's run, a non-competitive one-mile family walk, and a wheelchair division in the 8K. The 8K race is an official spring series race of the Houston Area Road Runners Association, and is a sanctioned U.S.A. Track and Field event.
Help Build HBA's 16th Habitat Home this Spring!
The HBA needs your help to build its 16th Habitat home. Available build dates are Saturdays on April 6, 13; May 4, 11, 18 and June 1, from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., with lunch and refreshments provided. Volunteers are needed for framing, roofing, siding and exterior finishing. Prior construction experience is not necessary. Approximately 30 volunteers are needed for each build date. Gender Fairness/Professionalism Judicial Panel, April 10
The HBA's Gender Fairness and Professionalism Committees will partner on a networking luncheon event on Wednesday, April 10 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the Ceremonial Conference Suite, Civil Courthouse, 17th Floor, 201 Caroline. The program will be "Best Practices Before the Bench and the Jury" featuring Judge Sylvia Matthews Justice Tracy Christopher, Judge Mark Kent Ellis, Judge Vanessa Gilmore and Jury Consultant Ellen Finlay. There is no charge for HBA members or those participating in the Mentor/Protege program to attend the event. The program is approved for 1 hour MCLE/Ethics credit. Pre-registration is required by April 4 by emailing
taras@hba.org with "Judicial Panel" in the subject line.
CLE Mixer at Saint Arnold Brewery, April 30
Looking for an exciting way to earn CLE credit? The HBA/CLE committee has planned a program at Houston's local brewery, Saint Arnold, on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Jason Braun and Dulcie Wink will present, "Walk a Mile in My Boots: Benefiting the Client Through Effective Communication." The program is approved for 1.5 hours MCLE credit, including .25 hours ethics credit. HBA members can attend for $35; non-HBA members can attend the program for $50. Attorneys must pre-register to attend.
