Renew HBA Dues for 2012-2013 Bar Year - Online Renewal Now Available
HBA dues statements for 2012-2013 have mailed. Please renew your dues promptly and notify the HBA Membership Department of any address or contact information changes. You can now conveniently renew your dues and manage your HBA membership account online. To begin using this new feature, you will first need to create your online account by using the email address where you receive your HBA email announcements. Once created, you will be able to manage your HBA account at your convenience. To create your online account, please click here. Currently only Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted. If you would like to join or re-join a Section of the HBA, please check the Section(s) on your dues statement and include the Section dues with your HBA dues. Make A Difference this Summer – Give Blood, July 19
The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center has an urgent need for blood donors during the summer months, when many donors are on vacation or focused on other activities. To help remedy this need, the HBA has scheduled a blood drive for Thursday, July 19 at First City Tower from 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the classroom behind the escalators in the tunnel. The HBA also is proud to announce that the Paul E. Stallings Blood Drive has exceeded its goal of 5,000 units of blood donated from the legal community during the 2011-2012 bar year! Help get the 2012-2013 blood drive off to a good start, and help the Blood Center during its time of greatest need, by donating through the HBA drive on July 19.

Mark Your Calendar for the HBF/HBA Book Drive
The HBF/HBA Fall Book Drive is scheduled for September 10-14, 2012, benefiting local shelters and literacy projects. Collect gently-used books for readers of all ages or consider a cash donation to purchase new books. Read for Constitution Day on September 17
Spend an hour of your day on September 17 reading to elementary students in commemoration of Constitution Day. Volunteers will all read the same book, which will be chosen from among age appropriate books on the Constitution that come highly recommended by educators. The books will then be donated to the school libraries. If you or any of your colleagues are interested in reading on September 17, please contact Bonnie Simmons at 713-759-1133 or bonnies@hba.org.
