Don't Miss Night Court 2009 - Performances June 10-13
Tickets for Night Court 2009: Legal Fairy Tales are on sale now through a link on www.hba.org on the main home page. Evening performances, Wednesday-Saturday, begin at 8:00 p.m. and the Saturday matinee is at 2:00 p.m. Special promotions include “Fairy Tale Mug Night” on Wednesday, June 10, where audience members will receive a free keepsake mug. The Thursday, June 11 performance features “Buy Three, Get One Free” ticketing and the Saturday afternoon show is a “Dress-Like-a- Fairy-Tale-Character” matinee. Seats are $29 for the Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows, $21 for the Wednesday preview performance and $15 for the Saturday matinee. See the flyer.

LegalLine Program Is Looking For An Eatery

Do you know a local eatery downtown that would be willing to donate light meals for the HBA's LegalLine program? Eateries must be able to donate for 6 months (12 LegalLine programs) and will also receive free advertising in The Houston Lawyer, Houston Bar Bulletin and the HBA Web site. Free Roster Photo Session June 23-25

Do you need a new photo for the 2010 HBA Pictorial Roster? Mark your calendar for June 23-25, 2009 and plan on coming by the HBA office, 1001 Fannin, Suite 1300, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to have a new photo made at no charge. No appointment is necessary and photos take only a few minutes. There is no charge for the Roster photo. LegalLine Opportunities for 2009-2010
The HBA LegalLine Committee is seeking law firms, corporate law departments, committees, sections, law alumni organizations or other groups that would like to provide attorney volunteers to staff a shift of the LegalLine program during the 2009-2010 bar year. Volunteers staff shifts from either 4:45 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. or from 6:45 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Light refreshments are provided. Volunteers answer calls from the public, provide brief legal advice, answer legal questions and refer callers to other resources. Resource guides and family law specialists are provided. E-file Order for 151st District Court

The 151st Civil District Court of Harris County, Texas posted a “Standing Order” on its Web site’s Court Procedures page requiring all documents in new lawsuits to be electronically filed. Click here for a link to the court’s Standing Order. Further, the Court Procedures page has links to the Harris County Local Rules of the District Courts Concerning the Electronic Filing of Documents, as well as a link to TEXASONLINE, the required e-filing portal for Texas courts. At TEXASONLINE, litigants may find information about Electronic Filing Service Providers (EFSPs) – companies that provide electronic document filing services that are in partnership with Texas courts. For e-filing requirements in all other courts, please check with the court staff.

Houston Ballet Offers HBA Members Discounted Tickets
Houston Bar Association members can receive a 50 percent discount on tickets to selected performances of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker when they purchase tickets for both. To receive the discount, purchase tickets to Swan Lake at 1:30 p.m. on June 13 or June 20 and The Nutcracker at 7:30 p.m. on November 27, November 29 or December 6.
