Renew HBA Dues for 2012-2013 Bar Year - Online Renewal Now Available
 HBA dues statements for 2012-2013 have mailed. Please renew your dues promptly and notify the HBA Membership Department of any address or contact information changes. You can now conveniently renew your dues and manage your HBA membership account online.
To begin using this new feature, you will first need to create your online account by using the email address where you receive your HBA email announcements. Once created, you will be able to manage your HBA account at your convenience. To create your online account, please click here.
Currently only Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted. If you would like to join or re-join a Section of the HBA, please check the Section(s) on your dues statement and include the Section dues with your HBA dues. Volunteers Needed for Rescheduled Habitat Build Date, June 9!
Come out to help the HBA complete its 15th Habitat home. This date replaces an original build date rescheduled because of rain. Volunteers will work from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will be needed to help finish with the final construction stages. The home is located at 8801 Sterlingshire St., Houston, Texas 77078. Please contact Claire Nelson at 713-759-1133 or clairen@hba.org if you would like to participate in the build. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
Night Court Tickets On Sale - Show Runs June 13-16
 Lawyers, Show Girls, Prize Fighters and Cirque come together Vegas-style for the Houston Bar Association's 2012 fundraising musical, "Viva Laws Vegas!" Enjoy the music of the Rat Pack, Katy Perry and Elvis while joining in the laughs as Reno 911 and CSI investigate a heist, bridesmaids plan a celebrity wedding, and a parade of newlyweds learn about family law and prenuptial agreements from the pros in Vegas. Volunteers Needed for 2012-2013 LegalLine Dates
HBA needs law firms, corporations, law school alumni groups or other legal groups to volunteer for the 2012-2013 LegalLine Program. Groups can provide four or eight volunteers for two-hour shifts. Please contact Natasha Williams at 713-759-1133 or natashaw@hba.org if interested.
Harris County District Clerk's Office Announcement
In an effort to improve customer service, effective June 1, 2012, the Harris County District Clerk's Office will be combining the Civil Customer Service and Family Intake Sections into one location at 201 Caroline, Suite 210. The Civil Intake Section will remain at 201 Caroline, Suite 110. Customers will be able to file, request service, make payments, and purchase copies at this one location. The No Fee drop box will continue at the current location in the basement at 1115 Congress.
