This seminar will cover why we use trust fund accounts, deposits & distributions, oversight and required records. It will delve into the big five trust account misunderstandings, fiduciary duty and duty to preserve and safeguard client funds and property. There will be a discussion of co-mingling vs. safekeeping, handling disputes, third party claims and refunds. This program will also cover IOLTA trust accounts, office operations using trust, mandatory deposits, record-keeping and flat fees – in or out? It includes handling disputes to finds in trust, duties to supervise, safeguarding money and other client property.
CLE: 1 hour MCLE credit, including 1 hour of ethics credit.
