HBA CLE Webinar: The Post-Pandemic Foreclosure Landscape
Fri, April 16, 2021
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
GSE foreclosures have been on “hold” since March 18, 2020. It is unknown at this time when they will resume. We will briefly discuss the types of foreclosure processes available in Texas and what we are seeing from the GSE’s (Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae) regarding what loans are being referred for foreclosure. We will discuss options available to borrowers to hold off foreclosure, loss mitigation options (forebearances, modifications, deeds in lieu of foreclosure/short sales), judicial options – temporary restraining orders and injunctions, and bankruptcies. We will also discuss how foreclosure attorneys can effectively represent their clients and still provide viable options for borrowers without creating a conflict of interest.
CLE: 1.5 hours MCLE credit, including .5 hour of ethics credit.
Presented by Kim Lewinski (Hughes, Watters & Askanase, L.L.P.), Dominique Varner (Hughes, Watters & Askanase, L.L.P.), Michael Weems (Hughes, Watters & Askanase, L.L.P.) and Carolyn Taylor (Hughes, Watters & Askanase, L.L.P.)
Webinar information will be sent via email to registrants. Registration closes April 16 at 12:00 p.m.
