Technical Competence: What the Ethical Rules Require and Best Practices
With all of the technical challenges faced by lawyers, law practices, and the public in 2020 and those looming in 2021, now is the time to make sure that you and your practice are prepared to meet these challenges going forward. First and foremost, we need to look at what the rules require of us to be technically competent and meet our ethical duties. Then we need to review what has and has not worked in the past year so that we can take this experience and prepare for the upcoming year and beyond.

John Meredith - Chamberlain Hrdlicka Attorneys at Law
John Meredith is the Chief Operating Officer for Chamberlain Hrdlicka law firm. After graduating from Baylor Law School, John practiced trial law in Houston. He worked at nonprofits including Aspiring Youth where he was the founding President and General Counsel and at SpringSpirit as Executive Director and General Counsel. John has worked in law practice management at law firms in Houston. John is the Vice-Chair of the State Bar and Houston Bar Association Law Practice Management Committees.
Kevin Keeling – Law Offices of Kevin A. Keeling, LLC
Kevin Keeling is the Managing Member of Law Offices of Kevin A. Keeling, LLC. A registered patent attorney, Kevin concentrates his practice on intellectual property litigation, trademark prosecution, and intellectual property counseling. Kevin spent six years in the United States Navy, where he completed rigorous Navy Nuclear Power coursework and finished his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. After the Navy, Kevin went on to Villanova School of Law and has practiced in IP firms in Philadelphia and Houston since 2002. Kevin's experience and education allows him to represent clients from a variety of industries and handle matters involving the simplest to the most complex technologies
