HBA Seminars

A Teacher, a Student, and a Parent Walk Into a Bar… and Ask You for Advice

July 13 @ 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM

This seminar will cover the most common legal questions that teachers want answered; the top school law landmines from the adult student’s perspective; and what parents of children in Texas public schools need to know. General civil attorneys may not be aware of the laws governing school law issues. This presentation will include a discussion of the ethics decisions an attorney might make in determining whether engagement in a school law matter is proper and will reference appropriate sections of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct.

CLE: 1.5 hours CLE credit, .5 ethics credit.

Speaker: Susan H. Soto (The Law Office of Susan H. Soto)

No pre-registration is required. Written materials are available for up to $15. The CLE Department makes these written materials available after many of its seminars and institutes.
