The HBA fiscal year is July 1 to June 30. Anyone applying for membership after December 31 and until April 1, will pay midyear dues. (Section dues not included.) If you are a member of the State Bar of Texas, this is your “present jurisdiction of practice.” If you are not a member of the State Bar of Texas, please indicate your licensing jurisdiction. (Note: To join the Houston Bar Association, you must be licensed in any of the 50 U.S. states. The HBA does not currently offer membership to attorneys licensed in other countries.)
Your application must be accompanied by a check, a money order, cash, or a credit card charge for the appropriate amount. Also, we ask that you submit a 4″x5″ photograph (color or black and white) with your application. Please print your full name on the back of your photo. If no photograph is available, you may submit one at a later date. Final approval of your application is subject to confirmation by the Houston Bar Association Board of Directors at its next regular monthly meeting. The board normally meets the third Tuesday of each month. You will be advised if any problems arise in connection with your application. You will be notified by mail of your acceptance to membership.
