As soon as you pass the Texas State Bar Exam, you are a member of the Houston Bar Association. Congratulations!
The first thing to do is confirm your contact information with the HBA by calling (713) 759-1133. You can then start to take advantage of all the benefits of HBA membership. These benefits include not only what is listed on our Member Benefits page, but also the following:
How to Join a Section
As a newly licensed member, you are entitled to one free section membership for the remainder of your first bar year! You can browse our list of sections here. If you have any questions about a particular section, contact that section’s chair, and if you have questions about section membership in general, feel free to call (713) 759-1133.
The Mentor-Mentee Program
The HBA Mentor Mentee Program, sponsored by the HBA Professionalism Committee, pairs attorneys licensed three years or less with more-experienced attorneys who will provide advice on career development.
Please note: The Houston Bar Association and the Houston Young Lawyers Association are not the same organization and are not affiliated. Membership in HBA and HYLA are not mutually exclusive.
