The HBA’s clothing and diaper drive is conducted every autumn. The HBA Campaign for the Homeless Committee encourages everyone to begin collecting items. Click here to confirm your participation as a donor.
New, unopened packages of disposable diapers of all sizes and brands are accepted. New and gently-used clothes of all kinds and for all ages are also accepted, with a specific need for winter wear such as coats and sweaters, and professional attire for men and women. These items are distributed to more than a dozen local aid organizations, including shelters and social service agencies.
Monetary donations are used to purchase disposable diapers and support Houston Dress for Success, which provides interview-appropriate clothing for low-income women entering the workforce. Cash or check only. Please make checks payable to Houston Bar Foundation.
Donations are collected October 15-26. Donors can bring items to 1111 Bagby Street, at the HBA office (FLB suite #200) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or at the dock on the Dallas Street side of the building, 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. Donors may alternatively coordinate with Bonnie Simmons (email@example.com, (713) 759-1133) to have a committee member pick up items.
