In honor of Law Day (May 1), the HBA holds annual events involving schools throughout the Houston area. These include the essay, photography, and poster contests. The contest winners, sponsors and judges are announced here!
HBA members can volunteer to read and donate this year’s selected book, Marshall the Courthouse Mouse, to elementary schools throughout the Houston area. Click here to volunteer as a reader. Readings take place in late April and early May.
The Houston Young Lawyers Association (HYLA) & Foundation sponsored the Annual Law Day Luncheon on Tuesday, April 24 at the Marriott Marquis Houston. The Honorable Lee Rosenthal, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, delivered the keynote address. HYLA presented its Woodrow Seals Outstanding Young Lawyer Award and the HYLA Outstanding Mentor Award at the event. The HBA also awarded its first place winners for the Law Day Poster, Essay, and Photography Contests.
Displays featuring local student artwork in honor of Law Day are up at various locations in Downtown Houston through May 11.
