The Houston Bar Association was recognized with two Stars of Achievement and several publication awards on June 22 during the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting in Dallas.
The Pro Se Expansion Clinic operated by the HBA’s Houston Volunteer Lawyers at the Harris County Law Library and the HBA’s initiative on diversity, equality and inclusion in the LGBT legal community will both receive Star Awards.
The HBA’s magazine, The Houston Lawyer, was named best publication in the large bar category. Bill Kroger’s article, “Professional and Personal Notes on Capt. James Addison Baker,” was named best feature or human interest story, while Mariame Aana’s article, “What do DREAMers Dream of?” was named best news article.
