‘Men As Mentors: The Importance of Sponsorship,’ Gender Fairness Committee Implicit Bias Breakfast

The HBA Gender Fairness Committee presents a CLE breakfast on Wednesday, November 28, from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. at the Heritage Plaza ground floor conference room.

Two mentor-mentee pairs will form a moderated panel to discuss “Men as Mentors: The Importance of Sponsorship,” delving into issues of implicit bias as it relates to gender and exploring male sponsorship of female attorneys and its impact on their careers. It will also cover steps that firms and other entities are taking to address implicit bias in the legal profession and advise on best practices to men seeking to serve as allies and mentors.

Panelists include Imrana Manzanares and her mentor, Texas State Bar president-elect Randy Sorrels, both of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz; Shira Yoshor (Greenberg Traurig LLP) and her mentor, Philip J. John (Baker Botts L.L.P.); and moderator Martha Feedback of Catalyst.

The program is free to HBA members and has been approved for 1 hour of MCLE credit. Baker Botts L.L.P. is generously sponsoring a networking breakfast beginning at 7:30, followed by the panel at 8:00. Register for this free event by November 21.
