Various volunteers completed construction of the home! Meals were provided by Court Reporters Clearinghouse and Stratos Legal.

The HBA would like to issue heartfelt thanks to all of the volunteers and donors who helped this housing project come to fruition. Because of you, a deserving Houston family will have a roof over their head.


 

 

May 13, 2017

With breakfast and lunch provided by US Legal Support, volunteers from the HBA — including 2016-17 President Neil Kelly — and the Land Assemblage Redevelopment Authority continued to power through construction of the new home.


 

 

May 12, 2017

Marathon Oil and Vinson & Elkins LLP (V&E) sent in their volunteers on a special Friday build, where the crew enjoyed good weather, as well as meals sponsored by V&E. This building is coming together nicely.


 

 

May 6, 2017

The volunteers who came on this day were from the Association of Women Attorneys, New Quest Properties, and the HBA Habitat Committee; other HBA members joined as well. Hanna & Hanna provided breakfast, and Esquire Deposition Solutions provided lunch. Check out that neat new rooftop!


 

 

April 29, 2017

Volunteers for this week were from Williams Kherkher Hart Boundas, LLP, Joiner Law Firm PLLC, the HBA Habitat Committee, and other HBA members. Depo Texas sponsored breakfast and lunch for the hardworking builders.

April 15, 2017

In observance of Easter Sunday, our volunteers took a break from the Habitat project. Construction resumes on April 22.
 

 

April 8, 2017

This week’s volunteers were 11th District Court Judge Kristen Hawkins and staff, Haynes & Boone, LLP, Halliburton, students from the South Texas College of Law Houston, and students from the University of Houston Law Center. Habitat Committee member Laeticia Mukala served as build captain. The volunteers were reported to have a good and productive day.

Volunteers from the HBA’s Habitat for Humanity Committee, BakerHostetler, and Thurgood Marshall Law Review convened on the build site to begin work on the house.
