Campaign for the Homeless

Campaign for the Homeless Committee members sort more than 13,000 items of clothing donated through the fall drive, benefiting local homeless shelters. Members also donated boxes of disposable diapers and money to purchase diapers for shelters.

Harvest Celebration

The 67th Harvest Celebration raised $725,250 in underwriting for pro bono legal services through Houston Volunteer Lawyers. HLRS Honors Outstanding Members


The Houston Lawyer Referral Service held its inaugural member appreciation luncheon on October 26 at Brennan’s. HLRS honored four of its panel members for outstanding service: Matthew Chappell, Most Outstanding New Member; Thomas Thurlow, Outstanding Revenue Producer; Ernestine Dansby, Longevity of Outstanding Service; and Ira Weizel, Most Outstanding Sustaining Member. HLRS was established by the HBA and other local bars in 1958.

2016 Fall Clothing and Diaper Drive
A Great Success


The HBA Campaign for the Homeless Committee collected over 6,700 in clothing donations, 9,804 diapers and $2,782.26 in monetary donations for the 2016 HBA fall clothing and diaper drive. Thank you to the firms, corporate legal organizations and individuals that donated to the drive.
