Houston Bar Association Releases 2025 Judicial Evaluation Questionnaire Results
More than 750 HBA members assessed judges based on professional and ethical criteria
(HOUSTON – December 17, 2025) Today, the Houston Bar Association (HBA) published the results of its 2025 Judicial Evaluation Questionnaire. The results are posted here.
The HBA invited its members to evaluate elected and appointed judges who have actively served on their current court for a minimum of six months based solely on personal, firsthand knowledge. This year’s questionnaire included more than 260 judges in federal, state, and county courts. More than 750 HBA members cast ballots, representing 10.4% of eligible HBA members.
“The HBA’s Judicial Evaluation Questionnaire is an outstanding service to our legal profession and our greater Houston community,” said HBA President Daniella Landers. “It provides a reputable avenue for the thousands of attorneys who practice in Houston courts to assess judges–their knowledge of the law, professionalism, and overall service on the bench. This feedback helps ensure Houston maintains a high-quality judiciary, strengthening trust in our justice system.”
The Houston Bar Association has conducted judicial polls for over 50 years. The HBA conducts its Judicial Evaluation Questionnaire in non-election years and holds its Judicial Preference Poll before the general election.
The Judicial Evaluation Questionnaire does not represent an HBA endorsement or opinion of any judge.
