An Overview of the State Bar’s Disciplinary System

Every year, thousands of grievances are filed against Texas lawyers, and a significant number of those grievances require the lawyers to file substantive responses to the State Bar’s Chief Disciplinary Counsel. It can happen to you. This presentation will review the Texas lawyer discipline process and what to do if you have to respond to a grievance. It will include an overview of the Texas Rules of Disciplinary Procedure and best practices to avoid an ethics complaint.
