Every year, the HBA partners with Communities In Schools of Houston to provide summer employment opportunities to outstanding junior and senior students at local at-risk high schools. In addition to a paid 8-week internship, participating employees enjoy visits to local courts and law schools, mock trials, networking and mentorship mixers, skills classes, and a celebration at the end of the program.

The HBA partners with Communities In Schools of Houston to provide summer legal internships to deserving 11th and 12th grade at-risk students who have an interest in the legal profession. This program also includes enrichment activities for all student applicants, such as hearing from lawyers and judges about the legal profession, virtual visits to law schools, law firms, and courts, and a moot court experience. Hired applicants will also enjoy a virtual orientation, an attorney mentor, and a program celebration at the end of the summer session.
