About
The Houston Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education Department provides quality legal education programs for attorneys in Houston and surrounding counties.
For more information, contact Ashley Steininger at (713) 759-1133 or ashleyg@hba.org.
The Houston Bar Association adopted the following policy for speakers at HBA events:
All HBA members, including judges and candidates for public office, can serve as speakers at HBA events and programs. There should be no active campaigning, no literature distributed, no buttons worn, essentially nothing to indicate that a member or judge is in a contested race for office, and nothing urging a favorable vote. All HBA members, including judges and judicial candidates, may serve on HBA committees.

Guardian Ad Litem Certification

Attorneys applicants of guardianship must also be certified. One hour of the certification course must be on alternatives to guardianship. The HBA offers a video of its "2015 Guardian Ad Litem in the Probate Courts Institute," which meets certification requirements.
