About the Committee
Established in 2026, the HBA Texas Youth Literacy Committee represents the next chapter of two longstanding HBA initiatives. By combining the work of the former HBA Teach Texas Committee and Lawyers for Literacy Committee, the committee creates new opportunities to expand its reach, strengthen impact and build on years of service to local students.
The committee promotes literacy, civic education and a lifelong love of learning by connecting attorneys, judges, law firms, schools and community partners with students through book drives, classroom reading programs and educational initiatives that celebrate Constitution Day, Law Day, Texas history and the role of the judicial system.
