Bankruptcy
Section Focus
The HBA Bankruptcy Section seeks to represent both consumer and commercial bankruptcy attorneys in educational, philanthropic and local bar related activities for lawyers, both bankruptcy and related practices, in the Houston community.
The Section hosts monthly CLE lunch programs for its members (excluding a summer break). Each program includes a brief update on new cases, plus a speaker on a substantive bankruptcy topic or a judge’s panel to address local practice issues. The lunch meetings are generally attended by at least one or two of the bankruptcy judges. In addition, the section regularly presents “brown bag lunch with the judges” programs, in which one or several of the bankruptcy judges speak informally on topics of concern to them in either consumer or business bankruptcy areas.
